I dropped my phone in the toilet...gobble gobble

i really did. drop my phone in the toilet. into pee.
and that was how i started my long holiday weekend! yay! thanks mom for the lender phone, i got it today in the mail.

so, on thanksgiving, mari and i cooked up some buttermilk biscuits with green onions, black pepper & sea salt. yes, they came out good. plus i cooked up some maple roasted sweet potatoes, met up with jeremy and headed over to ashley's house for dinner. the following ensued.

eating waaaaay too much food

playing a really 'fun' game that shocked the person who pressed the button last once the timer was up

on friday jeremy and i headed down to southern california for the remaining holiday weekend. we made a crucial pit stop at diddy riese for the ultimate $1.50 ice cream cookie sandwich! mawr rrarr yum munch!

that's white chocolate chip cookies with chocolate chip ice cream in between!
j's friend mark let us shack up at his place for the evening, which was really appreciated!

saturday we headed out to the cliff in laguna where jeremy's friend nick worked.

he hooked us up with some mid-morning drinks and food. there was also a really nice view from the restaurant

then we went to thousand steps, one of jeremy's fav beaches. it was a beautiful day out, so we wandered around and enjoyed the ocean for a bit.

afterwards we went to jeremy's aunt brenda's house, where we met this guy

he's looking for a home too! i wanted to give him/her one, but alas, no pet policy at my apt. plus i just wasn't quite ready to take on a kitten.
meet some of the sell family!

jeremy's neice ryann being adorable

then not so adorable!

just a little more kitten snuggle time in before we headed out

then it was off to see charleen! we went to a local bar down the street to play some darts

it was quite the hi-tech machine!

sunday we spent at the huntington gardens very beautiful place i've been wanting to check out for a while now. unfortunately we spent all this time acquiring sandwiches for a picnic, but they no longer let you bring food onto the grass! oh well, it was still really great to see. enjoy the photos.

they have an incredible rose garden, i don't remember how many i smelled!

these ones were one of my favorites

but you better watch yourself on the way out!
