q-time

so i went up to nh to do some family mingling for the ol' easter sunday, but stayed up and made my mom play hooky, or well, she requested it off in advance, but it was still fun, and we all got to go out to eat lunch together before my dad went to work, then my mom and i went to the SEE museum to see the lego display of the manchester mills.

I still think it's cool how far horizontal the ball goes before it falls.

iron pour

ok, so last night I went to see an iron pour at MassArt. It was sort of random, but I read about it in the Dig, so I just wanted to see what it was all about. Besides being less then 40 degrees outside, I weathered the cold and stuck around for about 2 hours. Check out some of my footage:









This one shows a guy breathing fireballs:






This one shows them pouring hot iron onto a slab of wood that's wet as well as into a wagon full of water, and you can see how it immediately makes the water boil.









This one just shows the capala, which is the furnace they heat the iron up in
